The Youth Arch Student Improvement Award began in 1991. This Awards aims to motivate secondary school students who have shown significant improvement in academic performance, conduct and other areas. Over the years, more than 160,000 students have been presented with this award.

The Dora Hung Memorial Teaching Award was established in memory of former Youth Arch Foundation Honorary Advisor, Ms. Dora Hung,

who passed away peacefully in January, 2013. To pass on her spirit of philanthropy, the Youth Arch Foundation set up the Award in the same year, honoring nominating teachers of the Youth Arch Students Improvement Award, who influence others’ lives with their own. The Dora Hung Memorial Teaching Award aims at encouraging teachers to continue Ms. Dora Hung’s spirit and to cultivate responsible students to contribute to society.

Application Details

Eligibility

Students currently enrolled in S.1 to S.6 in Hong Kong

Application Open

Application is open to all secondary schools in Hong Kong. Responsible teacher at school can first collect nomination information from different classes. Required nomination information including: Student’s name, Class, personal email and contact number.

Application Deadline

Please complete Part A and Part B online by deadline. Any application by email or post or repeated application will not be considered.

Announcement of Scholarship Winners

Winners of ‘Youth Arch Student Improvement Award Scholarship’ will receive notice through e-mail. Unsuccessful applications will not be notified.

Internal School Ceremony

Certificates of Merit for the ‘Youth Arch Student Improvement Award’ will be posted to individual schools by mail for all nominated students. Schools are recommended to present the certificates internally to recommend the awardees’ achievements.

Assessment Criteria

Demonstration of tenacity and enthusiasm in facing challenges with prominent improvements, in academic performance, conduct or other aspects, in recent years.

Filling in information of teacher-in-charge

Fill in basic information of teacher-in-charge, and proceed to the nomination page.

Step 3
Youth Arch Student Improvement Award(Part A)

One nomination per class only. Please fill in Online Nomination Form (Part A).

Step 4
Youth Arch Student Improvement Award Scholarship(Part B)

One nomination (among students on Part A) per school. Please select one students from the Part A Nomination list, and then click the button “Nominate selected student to Scholarship (Part B)”. Then complete and submit the Nomination Form for Scholarship (Part B) along with a photocopy of academic transcript.

Step 5
Completion of Nomination

Students might receive the following awards after assessment.

Youth Arch Student Improvement Award Scholarship (Part B)(Awardees)

Select 30 to 35 Recipients from all nominating schools. Each awardee will receive a scholarship of HK$1,000.

Youth Arch Top 10 Student Improvement Award

10 students will be selected among the Scholarship recipients.

Prize

All awardees will receive a Certificate of Merit presented by the Youth Arch Foundation and be invited to join the programmes organised by the Foundation.

Scholarship Recipients will receive a scholarship of HK$1,000 and priority invitation to our programmes. Winners of the Youth Arch Top 10 Student Improvement Award will also receive a trophy and an invitation to a cultural exchange program.

Youth Arch Foundation reserves the final right to make amendments and decisions regarding the terms and conditions of this Award and its related activities.
